General Questions

Google Street View technology is now available for business interiors — and allows customers to virtually ‘step inside’, and take a look around your business. Once the virtual tour is published by Google, the link to the tour is displayed directly on the search results page, Google+, and Google Maps.

The virtual tours are photographed by Google Trusted Photographers, and businesses pay the photographers to take the interior photos.

Google Trusted Photographers are taking high-quality interior photographs that are stitched into seamless 360º panoramic images. These images are then linked together to create an interactive virtual tour — that allows user to virtually ‘walk around’ the interior of your business. Google Trusted Photographers are independent contractors who have been trained and certified by Google to produce high quality panoramic images. You will be able to view your images on Google search results, Google Maps and Google+. For more information about how these images are created we invite you to visit the Process page on our website.

Typical 360 photo sessions take about an hour. This varies depending on the size of your business, and the coverage you choose.
We can generally accommodate new projects with 3-5 days notice, depending on current workload. Give us a call and we can work with your schedule.
You’re welcome to clean and tidy prior to the photography session — but remember the goal is to show customers what to expect when they visit your business on a normal day. Your photo shoot includes three POI (point of interest) photos. If your business features merchandise, select 3 items you’d like to include. If your business is a restaurant, 3 food items can be photographed and will need to be ready about an hour after we arrive to the photo shoot.
Photo shoots generally only include the customer-facing areas of your business. Before the shoot begins we walk through you business with you, to confirm each tour stop location. We can feature or exclude any area from you tour as you wish. Again, the goal is to show customers what to expect when they visit your business on a normal day.
We will work around your schedule to ensure your photo session is as convenient as possible. We recommend scheduling your shoot before or after normal business hours, to minimize disruption. Photo shoots do not require any special equipment or lighting — so businesses can schedule photo shoots during normal business hours if they desire. We just recommend letting your customer and staff know photography is in process, and that all faces will be blurred by Google algorithms before publishing.
We can schedule your photo shoot anytime that is convenient for you, and showcases your business in the best light. We recommend before your store opens or after the business day, to minimize disruption and blurred people.
“No. Per Google Street View privacy policy, all people will be blurred out prior to publishing. As such, we recommend scheduling before or after normal business hours, so there are as few blurred people in the shots as possible. As the business owner it is your responsibility to notify your employees and customers that the photo shoot is taking place.

We do offer custom 360 virtual tours, that can include people — as well as other features like music soundtrack, narration and interactive hotspots. In a custom tour, with model releases, you will be able to include friends, family, customers, or even professional models in your tour. This works particularly well for owners that want to showcase their businesses in-use. For example, Restaurants can show happy patrons enjoying a meal. Colleges can show happy students walking across campus. Medial offices can show friendly staff and comfortable patients.
A custom 360 tours offers the creative freedom to clearly illustrate your specific business needs.”

Any person can request additional blurring or takedown of and entire image through Google’s Report a Problem link at the bottom of the pano image.”
